About This Spot

Nestled just off West Seltice in Post Falls, Midtown Deli invites you to slow down and savor a truly distinctive neighborhood experience. This unpretentious little spot feels less like a deli and more like a cherished local ritual—a place where warm welcomes come just as naturally as the aroma of freshly baked bread and garlic butter licking the air.

From the moment you drive up, there’s a sense of ease and generosity that sets the tone. The pace is calm but lively enough to feel alive, punctuated by friendly chatter and the casual rhythm of sandwich orders being crafted with evident care. It’s a curbside gem where heartfelt human moments meet the simple joy of a well-made meal.

The atmosphere is quietly inviting, shaped by the kindness of the folks behind the counter who treat every guest like an old friend. This is a place where you can place your trust in their instincts—whether you’re standing by the window anticipating a crowd-pleasing favorite or trying something off the beaten path. It’s clear they value tradition without ever feeling stuck, offering comforting flavors with a personal twist that keeps people coming back.

Every sandwich here carries an unmistakable sense of generosity, not just in portion size but in spirit. The own-baked breads and subtle extras like garlic butter or sun-dried tomato accents elevate the experience beyond ordinary deli fare. Pair that with the occasional homemade dessert quietly waiting just beyond the counter, and you have more than a quick bite—you have a small celebration of local craft and care.

For anyone seeking a casual stop that feels like a shared secret among neighbors, Midtown Deli is a sincere invitation. Here, food is more than fuel; it’s a welcome handshake, a moment of pause, and a tangible reminder that the best discoveries often come from the simplest places.

You won’t find another sandwich in Idaho that even comes close to what you get here at Midtown Deli in Post Falls, Generous portions of meat in each sandwiches you order. My favorites are the Pastrami and Roast beef sandwiches with their delicious sourdough with their garlic butter and then grilled. If you’ve never had one of their delicious sandwiches you’re definitely missing out.

I stopped a few weeks ago to get a French Dip, but it was Tuesday and I had failed to read that they are only available on Fridays. The ladies at the window kindly notified me but said to get there early because they sell out quickly. She even said I could call ahead to pre-order and they would save some for me. I finally made it back and was not disappointed. They offered some additional toppings but I just got beef and cheese. It was a big sandwich and the roast beef and bread were excellent, as well as the au jus. The only problem was there was only enough au jus for half of the sandwich. It was also served with a warm, soft freshly made cookie! I can see why Yelp has it at #17 on its 100 Best Sandwich Shops in the Nation. I look forward to trying other sandwiches and will ask for two cups of au jus next time.

Had this for the first time today and WOW. Such a wonderful inviting atmosphere from the ladies and the sandwiches are on par for the best in area easily. To top it off they had homemade blueberry cheesecake as well.. enough said, this is a must stop.

Great little drive up shop with excellent sandwiches. They make their own bread and desserts and pile on plenty of meat for the sandwich portions. The Turkey Bacon and Rueben are guaranteed winners, but also made a creat your own that was a grand slam. Fantastic sandwiches, 10 out of 10 every time.

What a delightful surprise!! We just wanted a quick place to grab a sandwich for a picnic, but what we got was the best sandwiches in Idaho. Plus, they were made by two of the friendliest ladies you could hope for. They even hooked our pups up with some extra meat! The sun dried tomato bread and garlic butter were devine too! Can't wait to go back.

We ordered a Ruben and French dip sandwiches. They were delicious and the size of the sandwich is amazing! The ladies that run the deli are delightful Go early or order online. I've had the soup, before, but it was gone by the time we got there. We'll be back.

Turkey sandwich and pumpkin carrot cake are fantastic! Call ahead to place your order and drive thru! The owner is very sweet and the food is simply amazing. Hands down, this is better than ANY sandwich shop!

At the new location, a little to the west. Still the best around in every category from service to soup! I love Midtown Deli
